About Us

The Kredos: Carmiet, Elah, Duby and Yoyo, in their garden

We are the Kredo family: Carmiet, Duby and Elah, and our dog Yoyo.

We live in Amirim, a beautiful vegetarian village in the upper Galilee, and invite you to experience a “Hebrew Vacation” with us.

Carmiet

Was born in South Africa in 1960, and came to Israel on aliyah with her family in 1964.
Carmiet works at the “Helen Doron” learning center in Karmiel (http://www.helendoron.com), teaching young children English via a unique method, which includes games, songs and fun activities, the same way a child learns his or her mother tongue.
Carmiet is also an artist who paints mainly landscapes of the Galilee and holds art and craft workshops (http://www.carmitart.com/keshere.html).
Carmiet has a lot of patience and experience working with both children and adults.
Although her mother tongue is English, Carmiet feels that Hebrew is the language she loves, writes poetry in and masters.

Duby

is responsible for logistics as well as for activities such as bonfires and hikes in and around Amirim.
He loves to cook and to teach others how to prepare typical vegetarian Israeli and oriental food.
Being a vegetarian and vegan village, ecology and organic gardening are a very important part of life in Amirim, and Duby is highly active in practicing and teaching ways of recycling and composting home and garden waste.

Elah

Our sixteen-and-a-half-year-old daughter, is a high school student who assists us in her spare time.
She loves theater, fashion, friends and is a typical Israeli teenager.
